I especially like thier birdhouses made from found materials (2010) – following the ‘hidden track’ birdhouse project in NYC (2007). Daniele Pario Perra by his research project ‘low cost design’ documents … “the smart solutions created by anonymous designers to find a way to sort out everyday problems or needs. The two books published by Silvana present hundreds of examples of unconventional creativity: a re-use, or better, a modified and enlightened use not only of objects, but also of actions and projects that can change the use of the territory, thus revealing people’s innovative customs and great imagination.”

This very thought brought me to the highly constructed rooms that replicate the consumers “ideal home” in IKEA. Everything within the space is meticulously planned, and items are intentionally placed to create a certain effect. This simulation of the home not only sells the product, but most importantly, lends itself to the idea of selling a possible life. These rooms are built for the sole purpose of interaction; what I am interested in photographically are these interactions.(…) A young girl laying in bed, a boy playing video games, a couple fighting in the bedroom… It’s hard to believe some of these photographs were taken in IKEA.” Support her kickstarter to receive a copy of the book.
