Swoon printing event

Brooklyn Museum launched a new membership category in dec. 08 called 1stfans – it’s a social networking membership with benefits and costs $20. The first benefit was a print from artist Swoon’s studio. There were 6 different prints to choose from and the printing was done as you watched – see the following photos. You could bring your own material and prints were done on newspaper, fabric and cardboard.

Is John Divola claustrophobic?

There is this certain aspect in John Divola’s photography that makes me feel more than uncomfortable. What do you think? If you are not familiar with his work go here for a quick overview, or visit John Divola’s exhaustive website which includes several statements and an interview from 1978.
For a more romantic view on abandoned rooms I recommend Tany Kely’s ‘Histoires de fenêtres’ on flickr.
Some images to soothe you

More visual blasts by David Schnell in his book ‘Hover’ (Hatje Cantz 2007) or documented by liga-galerie, from the show ‘Sonntag’ (2004). Battle this, Zaha Hadid.
